Before creating a Facility Map you MUST create a Unit Tracker record for each Unit.
To create a Facility Map, begin by clicking the Show Map Control button (1).
Next select the Add or Modify Shapes or Locations (2) option in the Map Control palette.
Adding Shapes Manually:
Click New Shape (9) and choose the name of one of your units. A new shape will be created in the middle of the Facility Map.
Drag the shape to the location of the Unit on the map and resize it as necessary.
Click New Shape again, choose another unit, and then adjust the size and location of the new shape. Do this for for each of your Units.
You can delete a shape by selecting it and pressing the Backspace (or Delete) key OR use the Delete All Shapes (10) button to start over.
If you drag a shape off the map, use the Reset Button Locations (11) button to bring it back. This button also allows you to choose which corner of the Facility Map window you want the Main Menu and Show Map Control buttons.
When you are done click Save Map (12) and then deselect the Add or Modify Shapes or Locations (16) button.
If you are adding shapes Automatically (1):
First you need to decide how many Rows (2) of units you want the software to create. These can be Vertical (3) or Horizontal (4) rows and can be either Single Rows (5) or Double Rows (6).
Start by clicking the first field (2 - next to the word Create) and enter your best guess as to the number of rows. Then choose Vertical (top to bottom) or Horizontal (left to right) rows. Next choose either Single Rows or Double Rows. Double rows have even numbers on a top (or left) row and then odd numbers right below (or to the right).
Next click Create Unit Map (7). If the window is not big enough to draw the map as you have specified, you will have the option of changing the size of the window or the specifications.
You can make the shapes larger by clicking the pixels Wide (8) or pixels in Height (9) fields and entering another number. The minimum is 20 and the maximum is 50 pixels. You can also manually make the shapes any size you want.
To adjust the distance between rows, click the Gap (10) field and enter another number. The minimum is 20 and the maximum is 50 pixels. You can also manually move the shapes afterwards.
Adjust the position of the first shape in each row by clicking the pixels from Left (11) or pixels from Top (12) fields and enter another number. The minimum is 20 and the distance from the Right or Bottom edge of the window will be about the same as the Left or Top distance.
You can use the Delete All Shapes (13) button to clear the window and start over.
Click the Reset Button Locations (14) to choose which corner of the Facility Map window you want the Main Menu and Show Map Control buttons.
When you are finished, click the Save Map (15) button and then deselect the Add or Modify Shapes or Locations (16) button.
You can change any of the Status Colors (1) by clicking one of the five buttons and choosing a new color.
Pointing to a shape on the Facility Map causes the name of the associated unit to be displayed in the Unit ID field (2) in the Map Control window.
When the Add or Modify Shapes or Locations (3) option is deselected, these two additional buttons are made visible:
Select the Automatically open with Facility Map (4) option to hide the Show Map Control button on the Facility Map and automatically open the Map Control palette.
Click the Availability Checker (5) button to open the Availability window.
